Micro-Epsilon is one of the internationally established manufacturers of precision sensor technology and supplies over 40,000 customers worldwide with a broad portfolio of sensors and measurement systems. The diversity of products and variants placed high demands on documentation and the consistent provision of marketing materials.

The starting point: fragmented processes and manual effort

Before the introduction of Noxum Publishing Studio, documentation and marketing were organized in a highly fragmented manner. Operating instructions were created entirely in Adobe InDesign, while product data was maintained separately in Excel and transferred manually.

This process led to high maintenance costs, increased susceptibility to errors, and time-consuming coordination between departments. With the growing volume and complexity of content, an integrated solution became necessary.

Central platform with integrated PIM

With Noxum Publishing Studio, Micro-Epsilon relies on central management of content and product data. The decisive factors were the tried-and-tested standard configuration for technical documentation, the integrated product information management, and the Noxum plugin for Adobe InDesign.

The integrated PIM component enables central collection and maintenance of product data without duplicate data storage. Changes to product data are immediately incorporated into documents and publications. This creates a consistent database for technical documentation and marketing.

Seamless integration into existing layout processes

The Noxum plugin for Adobe InDesign allows text modules, tables, and images to be integrated directly from the editorial system into layouts. Content remains linked to its source and can be updated at the touch of a button when changes are made.

Micro-Epsilon now manages more than 14,000 content objects in the system. Product data is automatically transferred to documentation and tables. This reduces coordination and creates transparency across all content.

Multilingualism and structured workflows

Operating instructions are currently created in German and English; other languages can be added using the integrated translation management system. The Authoring Assistant supports authors directly in the system with terminology, reuse, and quality assurance.

Central data storage enables quick updates in all publications without manual rework. Duplicate processing is eliminated, design and review efforts are reduced, and document quality is enhanced through standardized structures.
