Interdepartmental collaboration in the Noxum Publishing Studio
Using an editorial system in marketing?
Is the use of an editorial system in marketing worthwhile? Surely, especially if marketing materials have to be produced in several languages and the media output is constantly increasing. The prerequisite, however, is that the marketing department itself has direct access to the content of the editorial system. Efficiency is then achieved by reusing valid content and images.
Würzburg, 25. Januar 2018 – Noxum GmbH, a specialist in content management and editorial systems, is making its editorial system available for collaboration between various user groups. The Noxum Publishing Studio is focused on technical documentation, product information management, the interaction of departments and the connection to Adobe InDesign.
The challenge here is the different user skills of the user groups: Technical editors are adept at working with the XML-based editing system, while the marketing department often lacks experience in the day-to-day handling of such data. And so marketing will prefer to create its products such as catalogues, data sheets, brochures or flyers in the usual layout program.
Layout program Adobe InDesign
Noxum has therefore developed the Noxum Plugin for Adobe InDesign especially for use in marketing and creative departments. This allows marketing and agencies to work in InDesign as usual.
The implementation of the Noxum Plugin provides functions that allow direct access from InDesign to all text, image content and PIM product data of the Noxum Publishing Studio and maintain control over layout and typography.
