Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) bases its web relaunch around Noxum GmbH's content management system

Multisite management with the Noxum Publishing Studio

KBA's websites (www.kba-print.de / www.kba-print.com) have gone online with the current Product Version 5 of the Noxum Publishing Studio as well as a new website framework, a new information architecture and a new design. The company's international branches in North America, Great Britain and France are likewise "on air" within the KBA portal.

Würzburg, November 23, 2007 - Koenig & Bauer (KBA) is a long-standing customer of Noxum GmbH, the specialist for content management and editorial systems. Koenig & Bauer has been operating its web portal with the help of Noxum's content management system since 1997. The Noxum Publishing Studio software suite allows KBA to offer its subsidiaries and representatives around the world a platform for presenting their services and information in accordance with Koenig & Bauer AG's corporate-design regulations. Noxum is a trustworthy partner to KBA. It provides the support which KBA needs to achieve its strategic business goals, namely consolidating the stock systems of its subsidiaries and international representatives and integrating them into the group-wide information management system.

Koenig & Bauer decided to completely overhaul its website. There were two reasons for this decision. Firstly, the website needed to be able to cope with growing demands and increasing numbers of users. Secondly, the company was keen to present itself in a new light just prior to the start of the drupa in Düsseldorf, the world's largest trade fair for printed media. The priorities here were to improve navigation, ensure clarity, allow fast page set-ups and optimize content as regards search engines, e.g. Google.

"We use the latest version of the Noxum Publishing Studio software which is based on .NET 2.0 technology. As in previous years, we were won over by the company's experience and the quality of its products and services," explained Andreas Bachmann from the marketing & corporate communications department at Koenig & Bauer AG.

The fact that data are generated dynamically in XML format from an SQL database running in the background ensures the necessary speed. A further phase of the project is already planned. This will allow the company to generate PDF documents on demand. The upgrade also includes translation management functions. These will be available to KBA for use in future ventures in other markets. KBA will therefore be in a position to present information and products quickly in these new markets.

"We left nothing to chance during this project. The system relies on new technologies, modern design and the latest cross-media publishing functions. With the Noxum Publishing Studio 5, KBA is using a system which enables it to rise to new challenges whilst ensuring quality and sustainability," said Sabine Grübl, the Project Manager at Noxum responsible for the KBA project.

The Koenig & Bauer group of companies offers the broadest range of products in the sector and is one of the world's largest manufacturers of printing machines. Its parent company, Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA), was founded back in 1817. It operates sites in Würzburg, Frankenthal, Radebeul and Trennfeld.
