Overview
With its modular structure, the Noxum Publishing Studio brings together all relevant
internal and external data within a single system and manages these data via a centralized data pool. The content from this centralized data pool (e.g. texts, tables, images and graphics)
can automatically be published in a standardized manner via a number of different media channels, e.g. the web, printed documents, CD-ROM etc. The Noxum Publishing Studio's production process
ranges from collecting, generating and managing data to producing previews and publishing a wide
range of electronic and classic media. The entire production process benefits from (browser-based)
support thanks to workflow mechanisms.
The Noxum Publishing Studio allows automated cross-media publishing on the basis of a multimedia XML database. A straightforward, interactive procedure allows individual users to define possible content for particular publications using data from the media-neutral database. At the same time, an individually definable workflow process manages the access and release mode.
Example – using the Noxum Publishing Studio to produce a product catalog
If, for example, the intention is to produce a product catalog,
a large amount of product information such as the number of articles in the range,
associated accessories and the relevant product information such as prices, technical
details etc. is read from the merchandise management system. To complement this information,
the Noxum Publishing Studio also allows users to enter descriptive article attributes
in the form of images, texts, graphics, tables, detailed technical information or even entire
sets of product documents. Using this media-neutral data pool, it is now possible to automatically
put together and assemble content for Internet, CD-ROM or classic printed product catalogs at the
push of a button.
Output formats – a decisive criterion for a cross-media publishing system
The most important parts of a cross-media publishing system are the publishing modules.
The Noxum Publishing Studio integrates internal and external information sources, manages
information in a media-neutral manner and makes available an extremely wide range of output formats
for automatic cross-media publishing purposes. Given the large number of output formats which the
Publishing Studio offers, Noxum GmbH sets the standard in the German CMP-system market. Supported
formats include the following: mif, indd, pdf, rtf, html, dhtml, html help, Win help, MS Help 2.
The Noxum Publishing Studio offers a quick and flexible way of producing
communication media
The publishing solution provides up-to-date communication media which are
compatible with a company's corporate design. It does this by allowing the information
to be modified and exchanged at short notice whilst always keeping the same layout. The Noxum
Publishing Studio automates all of the processes involved in producing communication media and
helps to reduce costs at the same time. An integrated workflow-management system controls and
monitors all processes and procedures, from the provision of information from various departments
to the publishing processes for the different communication media. The system can easily be
